Central heating is one of the most common ways Portuguese people use to heat their homes. It is a system widely sought after due to the large supply in the market and attractive prices.
What is it?
It consists of a system that allows increasing the room temperature and reducing the relative humidity of the air inside a closed space, creating comfortable conditions for the user in situations of low external temperatures.
How does it work?
Central heating provides heat to the entire indoor space, starting from one or more points such as a boiler, heat recovery system, or heat pump; spreading through all rooms via a fluid, previously heated, circulating through a piping system, by radiators installed in different rooms of the house.
The most common central heating systems integrate the following components: heat generator (which can be your fireplace with a specific heat recovery system); regulation and control units; and the distribution system and heat emitters.
Advantages
– By opting for a heat pump, you will save energy, reduce costs, and emit less CO2 due to its high efficiency;
– Heat pumps can be integrated with photovoltaic solar systems, further reducing energy consumption;
– This system is easily applicable in already built houses, requiring little space for implementation;
– It has a long lifespan (around 20 years).
